In class we are learning about counting on and counting back. To count on you have to take the greatest number and count on from it with the lower number. For example, 10 + 2 = Then you'd go: 10, and count two more 11, 12. Then the answer would be 12. To count back you need to start with the bigger number and count back using the lower number. For example, 7 - 3 =, Then you'd take 7, and count three back 6, 5, 4 and then the answer is 4.
The Geckos do not seem to be learning math. They seem to be learning gymnastics. I think that Golddust is learning to do push ups. She is learning to do a handstand too. She also stretches by putting her two front paws on the glass and one of her back legs on the log, then she has one leg hanging down. Blackdust seems to just want to hide in the log a lot. He is really shy. The Geckos have scaly, webbed feet. They feel like a rubber eraser. They are very light. Golddust likes to be the centre of attention. She is active and very fast. She is always looking for a place to run.
We have a giant tank in our class because we are having salmon coming on December 12th. We are going to learn the lifecycle of a salmon, until they turn to fry. Then we will release them into the hatchery.
The Christmas Concert is coming and we need to wear our PJs. We are dancing to "Hot Chocolate" and we are also singing to "Jolly Old St. Nicolas." Josie is going to wear her Christmas PJs. Tavish is still deciding, but he thinks Christmas ones.
